WHAT ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS ?

Veneers are a thin and semi-translucent laminant permanently bonded to your teeth. They are the most aesthetic alternative restoration for the dental problem involving the front teeth such as:

  • Diastema (space between teeth)
  • Crooked teeth
  • Broken or chipped teeth
  • Unsightly, stained, discolored teeth or worn out fillings

      The procedure

At your first appointment, the teeth are prepared for the veneers and an impression is taken. This impression is sent to a lab for the custom-fitted to meet to the dentist's specifications. And then provisional is fabricated to simulate your new teeth you expected. At the second appointment, remove
the provisional and the veneers are permanently bonded to the previously prepared teeth.

Advantages and Benefits of Veneers

    • The conservative removal of tooth structure
    • The most biocompatible to the gum
    • A healthy natural look
    • The procedure takes only two appointments

GUM   (Periodontic Dentistry)

Clean Teeth and Gums
Having a good oral hygiene is important. In addition to being healthier, it gives you fresh breath
and a more beautiful smile.

What are plague and tartar?
When you eat, some of food debris remains in your mouth and feed bacteria that grow in a sticky film on your teeth. This film sticky, colorless deposit of bacteria is called plaque. This is the primary factor of tooth decay and gum disease. It can produce acids which attack the tooth enamel and create cavity in the tooth. Tartar, Calculus, is a crusty deposit developed from the plague and creates so strong bond that only a dental professional can remove it.

Why Brushing?
Brushing your teeth after meals not only gets rid of the food debris but also removes this plaque from your teeth. Flossing removes plaque and food debris from between teeth and under the gum-line areas your toothbrush can not reach. Tooth decay and periodontal disease often start in these areas, which is why it is important to brush and floss them thoroughly at least twice on a daily basis.

PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY (Children)

How early start to see the dentist?
The earlier, the better. Baby bottle-feeding tooth decay or nursing caries can begin early. Children can't chew food easily, learn to speak clearly, and smile with confidence without their healthy teeth.
At least twice a year for most children is necessary.

The "Tell-Show-Do" technique (demonstration/ explanation/ preceding the procedure) is the good for the optimal treatment environment for the children.

Fluoride
The fluoride on a routine basis helps to prevent tooth decay, which re-mineralize the weak area of the teeth to be strengthened. Fluoride is more effective when combined with a healthy diet and good oral hygiene. Children between the ages of six months and 16 years may require fluoride. Fluoride is safe and highly effective if a correct amount used.

Sealants
Sealants is a coating of plastic material on the biting surfaces of your teeth. This seals out food and plaque as a barrier between your teeth and the decay-causing bacteria in plaque. Sealants are most effective in reducing cavities in children with newly formed permanent teeth.

Habits of thumb and finger sucking
Prolonged thumb sucking can create crowded, crooked teeth, or bite and jaw problems. If the child is old enough to understand and cooperative, explain the consequence of continuing the habit to stop the habits. But if this approach doesn't work, a mouth appliance can be used to stop it.

Early Orthodontic Care
Orthodontic problems are caused by dental injuries, the early loss of primary teeth or habits of a thumb sucking, fingernail biting, or lip biting. Child orthodontics can straighten crooked teeth, guide erupting teeth into position, correct bite problems, and prevent the early tooth loss. It can give your child not only the confidence for the good smile and the appearance but also the benefits of the easier way to keep clean and less susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease.

What if a tooth loss early?
Space maintainer is needed, which are metal or plastic appliance custom-fitted to your child's mouth. Space maintainer holds the missing space left by the lost tooth. It prevents movement until the permanent tooth is erupted in its right position.

ORTHODONTICS(Braces)

Orthodontics is the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of malocclusion, not aligned teeth proper1y, utilizing corrective appliances such as braces.

Most malocclusions are due to crowding, spacing problem between teeth, and irregularities of teeth! jaws! face. Some malocclusions are acquired from trauma, habits, airway obstruction by tonsils and adenoids, dental disease or premature loss of teeth.

Especially, every child should get a check-up no later than age 6. After the completion of the teeth eruption into the mouth or the nearly full facial growth, it may make correction of some problems more difficult. Children should be evaluated for treatment no later than age of 10 for girls and age of 12 for boys.

When teeth are not aligned properly, you become more susceptible to tooth decay, gum disease, bone destruction and chewing and digestive difficulties. Such problems may cause speech impairments, tooth loss, chipped teeth and other dental injuries. Crowding and spacing problems, open bite, deep overbite, over-jet (protruding upper teeth), under-bite (lower jaw protrusion), and cross-bite are the most commonly treated orthodontic problem.

In general, active treatment time with orthodontic appliances ranges from two to three years. Early treatment procedures may take only a few months. The actual time may vary depending on the patient's facial growth, cooperation and severity of the problem.

After the completion of active movement of teeth, retainers may be needed for stabilization.

ROOT CANAL THERAPY (Endodontics)

Root Canal therapy (Endodontics) treats disorders of the nerve (pulp) of the tooth. Without it, the infection will spread and cause the degeneration of the bone surrounding the tooth and tooth fall- out. To save the tooth, a diseased or infected nerve had to be treated. We believe in saving teeth, instead of removing them, and we will make every effort to save yours!

How to do it?
First, the tooth may be given a local anesthetic to numb the area and isolated with a piece of rubber sheet. An opening is drilled through the crown into the pulp chamber which carries the nerves of the tooth and blood and lymph vessels. Then the diseased pulp is cleaned and reshaped. A temporary filling is placed in the opening of the tooth until the next visit. At the next appointment it is removed, sterilized and filled with rubber-like material or another to preventive recontamination. Between the visits, medication may be put into the area to fight bacteria. Throughout the root canal procedure X-rays are taken to ensure that all steps are proper done. Once sealed the root canal and pulp chamber are permanently filled. Finally, in 95% of cases, the tooth treated endodontically needs a crown to strengthen its structure and improve its appearance.

IMPLANT  DENTISTRY

Dental implants enable dentists to create attractive smiles in a new innovative way and have become a revolutionary choice of tooth replacement. To replace one or more missing teeth, dental implants are another alternative to conventional bridges and dentures.

They can give you a smile that looks and feels very natural and promote healthy bone retention because they fuse to your bone, integration of the implants into your jawbone. A dental implant restoration consists of a bio-compatible titanium screw and post connected by a crown, bridge or denture.

Candidates for implant replacement are those who screened and evaluated successfully by your dentists. They need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. If it's determined that you do not have enough bone to support an implant restoration through the thorough evaluation, bone grafting procedures may be considered. Smoking and some medical conditions may preclude the use of implant placement.

At the first appointment, to determine the appropriate site for the implant replacement of your jawbone, dentists typically take x-rays and usually prescribe CT scans as well. Impressions are taken of the mouth to create a customized restoration and to fabricate a surgical guide, which guides to simplify the placement of implants.

At the second appointment, the dental implant is surgically placed into the jawbone below the gums. In 3-6 months, the implant securely fuses to the bone, osseointegration, just like a healthy, natural tooth root as a anchor. Depending on the cases, the patient may wear a temporary prosthesis during the healing period.

Once the implant has been completely integrated with the bone, the permanent artificial teeth replaced with a post attaching to the implant.

Ptosfhontics (To Replace missing tooth or teeth) When a permanent tooth is lost, the neighboring teeth are affected. The remaining teeth will begin to shift to the missing area if the missing tooth is not replaced.
